What Is Naturopathy?

What Does a Naturopath Do?

Naturopathy is a holistic health care modality that acknowledges and respects the body’s innate capacity to self-heal. Naturopathic medicine delves deeper than symptomatic treatment to identify and treat the cause of the body’s imbalance and draws upon herbal and nutritional medicines, whole food nutrition and lifestyle coaching in order to facilitate healing.

Do you have the heart to heal yourself?"

The 6 Naturopathic Principles

The most paramount of all principles in health care is to ensure that no intervention or treatment strategies cause any physical or emotional harm to the patient.

Naturopathic medicine views symptoms as the bodies way of signalling to us that there is a deeper source of imbalance that has not been addressed. And until this imbalance has been rectified, healing cannot occur.

As a naturopath, I do not treat conditions or illnesses solely. I treat the completely unique individual sitting in front of me, and endeavour to restore a total state of physical, emotional and spiritual vitality.

As human beings, we are inextricably connected to and a part of nature. And it is in nature that we find the most powerful healing substances. These are substances that the cells of our body are in resonance with and fully capable of utilizing to facilitate the body’s innate capacity to self-heal.

It’s cliché for a reason. Prevention is undoubtedly better than cure. My goal as a Naturopath is to empower you to live in such a way that keeps you in a state of vibrant health with a bulletproof immune system free of the debilitating illnesses that are so rampant in our society.

Perhaps my favourite of all principles. As a Naturopath it is not my job to heal you, but rather to empower you with the knowledge, tools and confidence to be your own healer and in complete control of your journey back to vibrant health.
